My name is Emily, and I am absolutely honored to introduce you to the Delta Alpha chapter of Chi Omega here at UTC! Membership in Chi Omega is an experience that simply begins in college and truly continues throughout your entire life. Chi Omega pushes us every day to be women of substance who expect more of the world and seek it out constantly. We have vision and purpose; we’re “Sisters on Purpose”.
In Chi Omega, we are founded on principles of scholarship, leadership, and pillars of service and gratitude. We strive to live by the guiding principles and inspiration in the words of our symphony written back in 1904. The Delta Alpha chapter is also incredibly passionate about our six core values: academic excellence, career and personal development, community service, campus involvement, friendship, and high standards of personal integrity.
Our chapter has been an integral part of the UTC community for 107 years. We pride ourselves on generosity as partners with our local East Tennessee chapter of the Make-A-Wish foundation, continued academic excellence, expansive involvement on our campus, and many other unique chapter talents and interests. Most importantly, our chapter has become a true safe haven and opportunity for growth for so many girls coming from various backgrounds and life experiences. This sisterhood has provided an outpour of love and support for not only me but countless others. Beginning the journey of college is often one of the most overwhelming and uncertain seasons of our lives. As we each gain experiences and knowledge of who we are, we soon begin to learn who we want to grow to be. Chi Omega has not only revealed this to me, but it has also pushed me past any potential I ever saw in myself previously. I am thankful every day for the ladies of Delta Alpha. They cheer me on at my best and sit with me through my worst. I truly would not be the woman I am today without this organization. Chi Omega has instilled in me values of “high purpose and helpfulness,” leadership, compassion, empathy, and resilience. I could not be more grateful for an organization that continually pours into me and pushes me to pour into others, and I know so many others would say the same.
Chi Omega is about flourishing, thriving, succeeding, and above all, making a heartfelt difference where it matters most.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any and all questions you may have, especially if you are just beginning your college journey! My experience in Chi Omega has been one that I could truly never say enough positive things about. I wish you all the very best, and of course, Go Mocs!!
Chi O Love and Mine,
Emily Clifford
